Become a member of the Assembly!
Founded in 2016, the Assembly is an artist run co-op operating in downtown Hamilton. It is organized by a collective of professional artists that present their work on a regular basis, showcasing a diverse and vibrant range of contemporary art. The Assembly is dedicated to presenting challenging contemporary art in Hamilton that contributes to larger dialogues in contemporary art today.
Becoming a member of the Assembly gives individuals and collectives the opportunity to have a solo exhibition during the 18-month term while participating in the Hamilton art scene. The Assembly is currently accepting applications to fill 6 membership spots. Members receive 1 solo exhibition and 2 group shows (exhibitions are monthly), presentation and promotion online, and full administrative support. Membership also includes gallery participation on committees, events, gallery sitting, and general operations. Membership is $65 per month, paid quarterly, from January 2027 to May 2028.
Applications on behalf of collaborating artists to share a membership slot are welcome. The gallery provides equal opportunities to artists and collectives across communities and to artists across career levels. For any questions, please email us

● A Cover Letter describing your interest in the Assembly
● Artist Statement. (max 500 words)
● Maximum of 15 digital images of your work, labeled with relevant information. In the case of Video or performance-based works, please provide hyperlinks (i.e. YouTube or Vimeo)
